I remember an episode of Daria where a football player guy was getting a goalpost named after him at the school and was basically going around being a really entitled jerk...but then died in a freak accident. (I think he was struck by lightning?) The rest of the episode was focused on how everyone was suddenly acting like the guy was a saint and chastising Daria because she felt no reason to glorify him when he was for all intents...a raging buttlord.I imagine that happens a lot, and in Devin's case when he's having to combine both trying to find obscure references to him since he was by no means famous...with the fact he died...its made for a very boring perspective of who he was.
